It's Begining To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Yesterday Mackenzie, Brandon, and Mommy all had fun decorating the Christmas tree and the rest of the house. I had the tree up and all of the ornaments out waiting for them for when they got home from school. Mackenzie could not wait to for Brandon to get home (she gets home first by 15 minutes) so we could start. Mackenzie was so very carefully unwrapping her ornaments and Brandon was the opposite. Mackenzie would stand back and study to find just the right place for that ornament, and well...Brandon, just really didn't care.

Brandon was much more into watching the Christmas movie I had playing than helping!

This will be our sixth Christmas with our log cabin. There have been so many fun stories with it. Mackenzie's first words to me when she saw it was "Mommy, did you buy the candy yet for it?" Every morning the kids get to open that day's door, and inside is a little piece of candy for each of them. It is a fun way of counting the days till Christmas.

This is our manger. I have so many memories as a kid of doing something good just to put a piece of hay in the manger. The point is to give little gifts to Jesus: helping mommy, saying something nice to a family member, doing a good deed and so on. When you do something good, you get to put one piece of hay in the manger. It has been very fun seeing how Mackenzie wants do things so she can put hay in the manger.
Brandon loves this Cat! It says the entire poem of "A Visit from St. Nicholas." "Twas the night before Christmas...." He is very good about coming and getting me and asking me to hit the button to make it play. He will just stand there looking at it with a huge smile on his face.
