Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your months, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
This is the verse that we talked about tonight at the supper table. We had a great lesson on what we say and how it can effect other people. I love seeing Mackenzie get a new subject and truly understanding it. It is cool to ask her what does that verse mean to you and her reply is " that I always need to say nice things and not mean things because it would not help the one listening, it would only hurt them." Then I ask if this applies to when playing with Brandon and Mackenzie said "yes mommy but is won't be easy." I guess we are making small steps!
Another great verse to along side of this one is Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Oh how true it is! One more verse than I am done but it is a great on for mothers with small children proverbs 18:13 He who answers before listening- that is his folly and his shame.
