Blessings, Name Them One By One

This morning while I was praying and crying out to God asking Him to take my burdens away that I have in my life right now that at times feel like they will consume me, I remembered this great hymn Count Your Blessings. No matter what I have going on in my life, I always need to remember all the blessings that the Lord has given me. It is very easy to forget that all good things come from Him. The first and second verse in Count Your Blessings is...

When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessing name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Are you ever burdened with a load of
care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings every doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.

As I read those words they screamed to me count your blessings and see all that
God has given me. I grab me camera and stared taking pictures of
blessings that God has given me.

God blessed me with my son Brandon who has taught me more about true love and acceptance. Four boxes of ornaments to put on your Christmas tree. A new bigger Christmas tree this year that was given to us. My very nice over sized comfy chair. Hangers laying on the floor for two reasons, a toy for Brandon and to hang warm clothes on when they are clean. Last but not lest Thomas the Train set Brandon's favorite toy.

The story about these two pictures can be read here. It is a great reminder to me that God answer prayers and blesses us when we are not even looking.

The true blessing is that I have lots of books that I get to read to my children every day. For all of Brandon's boy toys that you see, I am thankful.

Finally, last night at church Brandon fell down the full flight of stairs, but he was not hurt. What a blessing that blooding nose was. It could have been so much worse.
In the coming months, I will be writing down of list of 1000 blessing in my life. I want to focus on what God has given me and thank Him for each one. I am inspired by this woman's blog to do the same thing.

I am participating in Titus Two Tuesday. Check it out!!! You'll love it!

Thank you so much Kristen for posting this. I really needed this reminder as I too have been overwhelmed by the "burden" I've been called to bear lately. I will join you in writing down those 1000 blessings. You will be on the list!
